solitary

Thursday December 24, 2009
It has been a while since I've posted something that isn't directly consumer-based or fashion related.
The purpose of this site was to find photography, art, or really interesting projects that I relate to on a variety of levels. In the process of finding, I seemed to have gathered more consumer-related feeds... it's just too easy to become deterred from a purpose. I've begun to realize I really enjoy absorbing information; I find, ween, collect and then organize various themes. It's become addicting especially through Google Reader, Tumblr, and ffffound.

Listed below are solitary images collected from Mitchum's ffffound.
I often feel like these images. I suppose if I am being honest with myself, it's because I inflict a solitary mentality on myself; at the same time push those around me away.

my ultimate wishlist

Saturday December 12, 2009
This is a huge post but that is also why I have put the word "ultimate" in the title.
And to be clear, "ultimate" translates to a very a unrealistic-beyond-dreamy-perfect-world-I-get-what-I-want-wishlist.
I don't really need to say it, but there is a chance someone may take some items seriously. It's safe to say, some will never be gifted to me, but... that doesn't change the fact I still want and wish for them.
Chances are pretty high that things on this list will be making an appearance on future-ultimate-wishlists.

Pendleton blankets and throws

Saturday December 12, 2009
Take a peak at their site.
There are some great Native American blankets to choose from. Seriously.
Downside is... they are a tad pricey. They range from $200-$340.

Modern 50

Saturday December 12, 2009
So many great finds on this site. Too bad they are all beyond my budget.
If I were to invest in one of the pieces listed... it would definitely have be the orange Eames rocker.
I love the worn authentic look.

guest bedroom love

Friday December 11, 2009
I am in love with this guest bedroom.
It is so simple & inviting yet so stylishly comfortable.
The minimal feel slightly reminds me of the Thunderbird Hotel in Marfa Texas.
For a while now, I have been looking for an aztec-like print to put on the bed or hang on the wall. Just a little something that gives the room color and a unique feel.
The butterfly chair is perfect. (It is currently on my "Ultimate wishlist," which I will be posting shortly, as soon as I finish the source details.)

long hair, braids, & Alexander Wang

Thursday December 10, 2009
I LOVE her hair and Alexander Wang.
I WANT to braid my hair this very moment.
I am the most impatient person when it comes to waiting for just about anything.
I have been growing my hair out for a year now.
I give myself the occasional maintenance trims (less than 1/8 of an inch) every 4 weeks and my hair is only just past my shoulders. I think I have another year ahead of me before I get anywhere near these beautiful braided looks.
Sigh...

Bird

Monday December 07, 2009
I get the feeling when people put things on their wishlist, they have the full intention of eventually buying them or have someone else buy them for them.
I think my definition of wishlist, is a lot different from others.
In other words, I wish I could have these but I know in this thing we call reality, I can't afford them and I know others around me (who are obliged to be subscribe to this RSS feed) can't afford them either (without becoming penniless and destitute).
Having said that, these items are definitely on my wishlist.
Ahhhhhhhh...........Fashion.

Jcrew men's sweaters

Friday December 04, 2009
I'm on a sweater hunt&find kick.
This post is very typical of me. I can't find a women's sweater on the Jcrew site that I actually like.
All the women's sweaters look very thin. I'm looking for something with substance and warmth. However, the men's section seems better. The sweaters actually look thick and warm. (And looking at the asking price for these sweaters... they had better be warm!)
