Noi : Hakama

Monday June 28, 2010
I am someone who likes to try on lots of clothes in the morning, then toss the clean-unworn-clothes into a pile on the floor. It is not until the weekend that I re-fold and place them back on the shelf. It is incredibly amusing mainly because I like things to be minimally clean and orderly. Like a lot of mental cases, I like to think there is some order in this chaos.
Below you will find a unique take on a minimal clothing rack.
This is pulled from a series of clothing racks from Noi: Ines Königsmann + Nora Schmidt.
"Hakama is the smallest piece of the series. It serves as a neat clothes rack and is especially dedicated to those who use to have a mountain of worn but not dirty clothes on the floor. Hakama is made of oak tree, but also available in ash and walnut."
This weekend, my plan is to break out some power tools and attempt to make it myself.

iOS4  Wallpaper

Monday June 28, 2010
Great find in my feeds...
Here are some cool homescreen wallpapers for iOS4 (only for iPhone 4 and the iPad).
I'm using the gray grid. It looks so clean, organized, and minimal.
You can find more colors on Effektive Design's site.

Nine to Five

Sunday June 27, 2010
I'm on a movies kick. Streaming as much as I can off Netflix.
I refuse to limit myself to any specific genre. Fairly obvious with my current choice.
I love watching movies made in the 70's and 80's. I'm more interested in the styling and decor than I am in the actual story.

Only music posts lately...
Goes well with my moods...
Video shows scenes from the 1969 short film Clowns by Richard Balducci.

Songs of freedom

Thursday June 03, 2010
Lately, I've been feeling so down, feeling so frustrated, and beaten by every day interactions. I understand these are standard every day occurrences, everyone has these moments that they need to work through... to overcome on their own.
I understand to let them consume me is wasteful. Still, they affect me to the core and I find myself silently searching for something that will bring me back to myself.

I love Cold Splinters. It's such a great blog.
I'm constantly reminded of great classics I grew up on.
Mellow Mood really lifted me up today. I'm constantly amazed by music and how it can affect me.

Rainbow's End

Wednesday June 02, 2010
I've always loved Audrey's version of Moon River.
Audrey Hepburn - Moon River

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.

Atlas

Tuesday June 01, 2010
Atlas is a new addition. He looks like a cross between a Birman and a Ragdoll.
I love the way his fur fades into a brown on his nose, ears, tail and paws.
He and Enzo are still getting to know each other, but I can tell they will be best playmates and good buds.
